These are some of my favorite snacks to make for parties, and casually when our friends come to visit us. I recommend them as great dishes for entertaining, guaranteed crowd pleasers! The potato patties that are used in the ragada pattice, and the vegetable cutlets can be made ahead of time, just warm them in the oven before serving (at 275 degrees for about 10 minutes). You can also make the pakoda's ahead and warm them similarily. When we have our guests over we like to just pile into the kitchen, make the food fresh and our friends just help themselves as the deep fried goodness comes out of the oil or off the stove.

I like to ask my friends to help out, and get them involved. It stimulates the conversation, and makes everyone feel like they are contributing! I hope this inspires you to go out and have a party with some delicious Indian Snacks!


Ragada Pattice! A popular street snack of potato patty smothered with a delicious tomato ragada sauce.










Vegetable Cutlets made with potato, beans, corn, and carrots coated with a crispy crust. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious with my favorite Maggie Masala Chili Sauce!






Pakodas! The tangy eggplant is soft and fried in the crunchy pakoda batter. Serve it up with the a coriander and tamarind chutney.







These nachos are really elegant, not how you'd typically think of chips! Each mouthful is a burst of avocado, tomato, jalapeno, onion, and a hit of lime, all on a crisp nacho made with sesame. This isn't quite an Indian Snack, but its so good I had to include it here.
